50 χρόνια η Polo εξελίσσεται και δημιουργεί υψη- λής ποιότητας προϊόντα. Σε αυτή τη διαδικασία, όμως, δεν ήμασταν μόνοι. Στάθηκαν δίπλα μας κάποιοι ανθρώποι, οι οποίοι με τις γνώσεις και την εμπειρία τους, μας βοήθησαν όλα αυτά τα χρόνια περνώντας ώρες μαζί μας, δοκιμάζοντας και μελετώντας κάποιο προϊόν ή υποβάλλοντάς το σε ακραίες συνθήκες και προτείνοντάς μας λύσεις για να γίνει καλύτερο. Σας ευχαριστούμε πολύ! For 50 years, POLO has been evolving and cre- ating high-quality products. However, we haven’t walked this path alone. Along the way, incredible people stood by our side—people who, with their knowledge and experience, dedicated countless hours to us. They tested and studied our products, pushed them to their limits under extreme conditions, and offered valuable solutions to make them even better. Τhank you! GR ΕΝ Μιχάλης Τσουκιάς/ Michael Tsoukias GR Ο Μιχάλης Τσου- κιάς (1955-2020) γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα και σπούδασε Αρχιτέκτων – Μηχανικός, αλλά η με- γάλη του αγάπη ήταν πά- ντα η ορειβασία. Σε ηλικία μόλις 17 ετών, αποφοίτησε από τη Σχολή Πρωτοβάθ- μιων Εκπαιδευτών του Γαλλικού Ορειβατικού Συνδέσμου (CAF). Διετέ- λεσε Πρόεδρος του ΕΟΣ Αθηνών (1984-1987), Αντι- πρόεδρος της ΕΟΟΑ (1989-1991) και πρώτος Πρόεδρος του ΣΕΟΒ. Ηγήθηκε της πρώτης ελ- ληνικής αποστολής στα Ιμαλάια το 1985 (Anna- purna), όπου τιμήθηκε με το Χρυσό Βραβείο Ήθους. Συμμετείχε σε αποστολές στα Ιμαλάια, τις Άνδεις και την Ανταρκτική. Πρότυπο ορειβάτη, εκπαιδευτή, σχοινοσυ- ντρόφου και οραματι- στή, ενέπνεε τους νέους να κυνηγούν τα όνειρά τους. Η POLO του οφείλει πολλά. Μιχάλη, σε ευχαρι- στούμε για τις ατελείωτες στιγμές γέλιου, τις ιδέες, τις συζητήσεις, τα γλέντια. Το 2020 ο Μιχάλης έφυ- γε απρόσμενα από τον covid-19. Όμως, θα συ- νεχίζει να ζει για πάντα στις καρδιές μας. EN Michalis Tsoukias (1955-2020) was born in Athens and stud- ied Architecture and Engineering, but his great- est love was always mountaineering. At just 17 years old, he graduated from the Primary Instruc- tors School of the French Alpine Club (CAF). He served as President of the Athens Mountaineering Club (1984-1987), Vice President of the Hellenic Federation of Mountain- eering and Climbing (1989-1991), and was the first President of the Hel- lenic Mountain Guides Association. He led the first Greek expedition to the Himalayas in 1985 (An- napurna), where he was honored with the Golden Award for Ethics. He par- ticipated in expeditions to the Himalayas, the Andes, and Antarctica. A role model as a climb- er, instructor, rope partner, and visionary, he inspired young people to chase their dreams. POLO ow- es him a great deal. Michalis, thank you for the endless moments of laughter, ideas, discus- sions, and celebrations. In 2020, Michalis passed away unexpectedly from COVID-19.
