The transfer of books and stationery causes constant concern in the educational community (educators, parents, students) as well as in the medical world, with concern for children that they are carrying heavier and heavier backpacks every day to and from school.

This concern cannot be overtaken by POLO, which has been leading and specializing in the protection of children’s physical health and in particular in the protection of the musculoskeletal system for years.
Taking into account studies of the US Pediatric Academy, the Ministry of Education’s announcements and the orthopedic research, POLO recommends:

1. The weight of the schoolbag must not exceed 15% of the body weight of the child.

If the backpack is bigger then POLO recommends the use of a trolley bag (see the entire trolley collection )

2. The shoulder straps of the backpack should have an inner lining even with the single case backpacks so that its weight is evenly distributed. They should always be worn both for the isomeric distribution of the load and for the proper posture of the body.

3. The backpack should be at the center of the child’s waist and apply as much as possible to the back and the pelvis. The content of the backpack should be sorted evenly, with heavy objects placed on the back of the backpack.

4. It is good the backpack to have a chest strap that helps in the correct posture and proper breathing. If the backpack is large, it should also have a waist strap to transfer the most weight into the pelvis to reduce weight from the shoulders and the skeleton. (These are POLO’s multi-case bags.anatomy-chest

5. The use of individual closets in school, if there are any, is important because they store things that are not needed at home. The student must update the contents of his / her school bag every day, according to the schedule so as to minimize the weight he/she carries to and from school.

6. Very important the way you wear the backpack.
The pupil should bend his knees or place the backpack at a higher point (for example, a bench) and then put it on his shoulders. in order to reduce any injuries, it can cause to the waist of the pupil.

7. Parents should not neglect the student’s or adolescent’s complaints of back pain. In such a case they should consult the pediatrician, orthopedic specialist or their physiotherapist.

The above instructions are purely advisory. Failure to do so does not necessarily you will have a problem.

Polo designs and generates backpacks that match the “want” of children and adolescents. But it is not limited to “look”. It focuses its research and production on the selection and use of accredited materials made by global organizations and specialized design, creating unique products that respond to the quality, comfort, safety and protection of its young and big friends.
