NO to the washing machine .. The correct way to wash a POLO bag is as follows:

The transfer of books and stationery causes constant concern in the educational community (educators, parents, students) as well as in the medical world, with concern for children that they are carrying heavier and heavier backpacks every day to and from school.

Taking into account studies of the US Pediatric Academy, the Ministry of Education’s announcements and the orthopedic research, POLO recommends:
1. The weight of the schoolbag must not exceed 15% of the body weight of the child.

2. The shoulder straps of the backpack should have an inner lining even with the single case backpacks so that its weight is evenly distributed. They should always be worn both for the isomeric distribution of the load and for the proper posture of the body.
3. The backpack should be at the center of the child’s waist and apply as much as possible to the back and the pelvis. The content of the backpack should be sorted evenly, with heavy objects placed on the back of the backpack.

19) Can I take the lid apart for better cleaning?

The bottom consists of a single plastic part that protects all around – 360° the corners, which are the most sensitive point of the trolley.The wheels have a significantly larger diameter for greater durability and better rolling.The handle is ergonomic and the reinforced aluminum uprights can be adjusted to TWO heights. 
INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CONVERSION OF A TROLLEY BAG TO A BACKPACK.
(1) Push the button and fully lower the handle mechanism.
(2) Release the straps from the storage case.
(3) Snap them to the clips on the bottom sides of the trolley.
(4) Unfold the rain cover and cover the bottom of the bag.
(5) Wear the bag on your back and adjust the straps.
CAUTION:
For faster conversion of the bag into a trolley, you can put the straps into the back case without unlocking the clips.
Make sure that the straps and the wheel cover are fully retracted because they can be damaged.
